INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY The firm's intellectual property practice includes evaluating availability and the federal registration and protection of trademarks and service marks, registration of copyrights, and counseling clients regarding the protection of these and other valuable intangible assets, such as trade secrets and trade dress. Our attorneys have successfully responded to initial refusals and obtained registrations for our clients, not only in the U.S., but worldwide, including Community Trademarks (Europe), Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, China, Japan, Australia, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile and Brazil. The firm's practice also includes drafting intellectual property and software license agreements. We are also experienced in prosecuting domain name proceedings with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Through ICANN's dispute resolution process, the owner of a trademark is able to obtain the transfer of a confusingly similar domain name if that domain name was obtained in bad faith, such as to trade off the goodwill of the trademark owner.
